Diagnostics and Testing at Stern

Cardiologists at Stern Cardiovascular use a variety of diagnostic tests to determine healthy vs. unhealthy heart function. Diagnostic tests done on site at Stern Cardiovascular include continuous cardiac monitoring (Holter & event recording), treadmill, echocardiogram (ECHO), thallium stress test, computed tomography scan (CT), chest x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX), ankle-brachial index (ABI), carotid ultrasound, and stress echo. In addition to additional information, diagnostic tests can show doctors whether or not a patient has heart disease or vascular disease.

If any of these tests are scheduled for you, instructions for preparation for the diagnostic tests will be provided. Regarding the results of your tests, your doctor or his/her assistant will notify you of your results. Please allow at least 5 business days for the complete review of your diagnostic tests. If you have not received notification within this time frame, please call your physician’s nurse.
