Our Physicians

Our cardiologists are defining the cutting edge in cardiovascular medicine.

We provide a team approach to preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease which involves physicians certified in cardiovascular medicine, nurse practitioners who hold advanced degrees in acute care nursing, registered nurses specially trained in cardiology, medical assistants specially trained to assist our physicians, and registered diagnostic technicians and certified laboratory technicians to administer the sophisticated testing required to diagnose the complexities of cardiovascular disease.

With an extensive background in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Klemis went on to pursue additional training in vascular medicine and learned innovative less invasive treatments for vascular disease at the prestigious Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute of New York, one of the busiest centers in the world for vascular disease and the leading center for carotid artery stenting in the US. He worked alongside pioneers in the field of vascular intervention and became the first midsouth physician to become board certified in both vascular medicine and endovascular intervention, as recognized by the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He recognizes the systemic nature of vascular disease and believes a comprehensive evaluation should include attention to all areas affected by vascular disease, not simply the heart. He is currently helping to develop innovative protocols to determine the etiology of stroke and that would help reduce the risk of future therapies. Above all, he values skilled and compassionate care and feels each patient should be treated as if they were a family member. "I was drawn to Memphis after looking at a map and seeing that it was the epicenter of stroke and vascular disease in the United States. I feel that with collaboration among area physicians, we can work together to recognize, prevent, and treat vascular disorders". Dr. Klemis has appointments available Wednesdays and Fridays at the Germantown office of Stern Cardiovascular Center. He can be reached at 901-271-1000.
